The State Bar of California recently created the “California Paraprofessional Program Working Group” to develop “…recommendations for consideration by the Board of Trustees for the creation of a paraprofessional licensure/certification program to increase access to legal services in California” including creating a direct path for existing paralegals to obtain licensure/certification, among other proposals. This program will outline the history, mission and proposals of this Working Group and how their work may significantly influence what paralegal careers may look like in the near future.

Presenter, Ashod Mooradian, Esq., a former State Bar prosecutor, advises attorneys on how to navigate ethical dilemmas/conflicts of interest, implement best practices and up-to-date procedures and forms (e.g., retainers, intake questionnaires, etc.) for their office or firm, and expertly defend against complaints of ethical misconduct submitted to the State Bar.
