Paralegals play an indispensable role in the trial preparation process. It’s imperative that, in conjunction with the lead counsel, you design and adhere to a plan when a firm receives a case. There are many aspects to preparing for a trial including coordinating schedules, monitoring deadlines, witnesses and documents, working with all members of the support team, including expert witnesses, outside vendors, and other legal assistants and attorneys involved in the trial. This presentation will provide a snapshot of the importance of the trial preparation process.

Presenter Gorman DeGrave, a graduate of Western State University College of Law, is an attorney with twenty-three years of experience handling civil litigation cases ranging in complexity from defense of construction defect lawsuits and inverse condemnation actions against governmental agencies, to wrongful death, personal injury, premises liability and property damage claims. Mr. DeGrave has mediated hundreds of cases and has represented clients before the Contractors State License Board, as well as before a jury in matters involving high-profile construction defect actions, inverse condemnation, property damage and personal injury lawsuits. Mr. DeGrave is of counsel to the McMahon Lynch Law Firm.
